Welcome Back Darren!

We are thrilled to have Darren Liu back in the lab for the third summer in a row. Darren is working with Rob to extract partial isoform information from MERFISH imaging data based on which exons probes are known to bind. Welcome to the lab Darren!

Goodbye Tara!

The Salzmanlab is also sad to say goodbye to Tara after 10 weeks of summer research through the GRIPS program (http://med.stanford.edu/genecamp.html)! Tara learned python from the bottom up and used her new skills to analyze how EBV infection leads to changes in host circular gene expression. Good luck with school this year!

We welcome summer researcher Tara Ahsan! Tara comes to us from Stanford's GRIPs program!

Hi, I'm Tara a high school student from Sequoia. Some of my hobbies I enjoy are playing tennis, baking and hanging out with friends! This summer I'll be learning to code and researching the genomic context of circles!

Graduate students Julia Olivieri and Elisabeth Meyer join the lab!

We are overwhelmingly excited to welcome Elisabeth (left) and Julia (right) to the lab!

Julia is a second year PhD student in ICME. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2016 with majors in Mathematics and Biology.  When she isn't pursuing her interest in developing rigorous mathematical theory for biological experiments, you can probably find her listening to a podcast while biking around Palo Alto.

Elisabeth is a first-year PhD student in Biochemistry. She graduated from Harvard University in 2015 with a BA in Chemistry and Physics, and worked as a technician at the Broad Institute from 2015 to 2017. Outside of lab, she enjoys going to libraries and drinking bubble tea (separately).
