Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our group places a priority on the value of diversity in science including ideas, opinions, perspectives, identities, learning styles and backgrounds. We strive to create an inclusive environment that supports and welcomes all perspectives. We hold firm that the best science is done by collaboration and synergy of diverse personal and academic history. We take an inquisitive approach to learning about each other as people and scientists. Our culture strives to ensure every member is included and every voice is heard through openness and respect of all opinions.

We are continually working to improve and strengthen how these values can be better reflected in our own group and outside of it. We use a variety of approaches including sharing activities members participate in to support diversity in the larger Stanford community and society at large through inquisitive dialogue.
